Happy Friday, everyone!

We made it!  My first week in my new position at work was absolutely fabulous!  I learned a ton and have really felt some strong professional growth happening!  Exciting stuff!  I hope your week has been just as productive and inspiring!

Yesterday, I styled this shirt from the #NSALE for the current hot Summer weather.  Today, I’m showing you how to style it for those transitional days between now and Fall when the weather begins to change.  Distressed denim (or black skinny trousers for work) are beautiful with this top half-tucked in.  The half-tuck gives it some added style and elevates the look from a basic outfit. I can’t wait to style this top again wearing white skinnies or a pencil skirt!

Also, I need to discuss the shoes!  These loafers are amazing!  They are high quality and honestly are worth full price!  They’re pointy nature elongates your legs!   Who wouldn’t want that?!

Thanks for stopping by and reading!  Cheers to a fantastic, restful weekend!

This top has been one of my favorite buys from the #NSALE!  It’s one of the softest tops that I own.  I adore it so much that I also purchased it in white!  If the gray comes back into stock, I will be purchasing it as well.  Honestly, even after it goes back to full price, it is still a great deal…the quality is amazing!  I prefer an oversized look so I sized up a size (I’m wearing a small here).  I have been enjoying pairing it with shorts and various flats as of late.  In one of the coming posts, I will be showing you how I will be wearing it in the Fall months as well!  It’s incredibly versatile.  Personally, I will be wearing it for work and play!

Also, can we discuss these flats (also here) for a quick minute?!  These are some of the most comfortable shoes that I own.  They are so soft on your feet!  The leather version is honestly like butter and rivals my designer shoes in terms of leather quality!  Their construction & material deems them worth more than full price!  I own several colors of them and have been eyeing the black pair as well!

Be sure to check back in during the coming days to see how I style this top for Fall!

A good jacket at an affordable price point is always VERY difficult to find.  However, beautiful faux leather jackets at a good price point take the cake for being nearly impossible to track down.  When I saw this one during the fabulous #NSALE (only a few days left!) from across the room, I swore that it was the almost $500 (that’s the sale price) option that I had been eyeing online.  As I got closer to it, it still seemed to be amazing quality!  That being said, I saw stunned when I picked it up to discover the low price point!  I couldn’t check out fast enough.  It’s one of those basics that your closet absolutely needs.  I can’t wait to wear this with a little white dress and some pumps, a plain white tee & statement necklace, and a plethora of other ways.  Dare I say it, this may just be the best thing that I’ve purchased from the sale!

Thanks for reading!

blush & shorts2

One of the best things in the material world is cashmere.  It’s the softest most luxurious fabric there is.  There’s something about it that just makes me weak in the knees.  When I was out and about shopping while wearing a dress a few weeks ago, I was looking for something long sleeve to try on with these shorts in an effort to get the full effect of them in the fitting room.  I browsed through the store pulling plaid button ups, plain tees, and touching anything long sleeve in my path.  Suddenly, I noticed a blush pink sweater in the rack and immediately gravitated towards it.  The second I laid my blush pink manicured fingers on it, I was done…it didn’t even matter how it fit…the feel of it alone was enough to do me in.   I guess you can say that cashmere is my kryptonite.  I have no restraint against it.  Trust me, once you touch this amazing sweater, you will be enamored with it as well!  It’s a must have.

In an effort to wear it during the summer season, I chose to pair it with distressed shorts & blush pink flats.  It was also be super adorable with white denim!  The styling possibilities are endless as its a closet staple!

What’s your kryptonite?  What are some of your favorite closet staples?

Happy Friday, Everyone!

This Friday is extra special…It’s the start of public access for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!  That means that everyone can now access the best sale of the year.  While many items had sold out during the private sale, NOW ALMOST EVERYTHING HAS BEEN RESTOCKED!  Run as fast as you can because once they are gone, they will most likely not have full replenishment if they sell out.  These deals on Fall essentials are amazing because they only last until August 8th, and then prices go back up to full price!  Hurry because things are selling like hotcakes and I’ve already had to basically stalk some of the items on my wishlist in order to get them!

Below are my top 5 for every category:  beauty, tops, bottoms/dresses, outerwear, shoes, loungewear, handbags, and home.  These are all items that I already either own, have purchased & are in the mail on their way to me, or on my wishlist!  These are only the items that I personally will be buying or salivating over.  There’s a lot but, the prices are phenomenal & this only happens once a year!  So that being said, find your favorite category below and shop away…I know I have been lately.  Be sure to check out my other three posts on the #NSALE here, here, and here.

BR little white dress5

To me, little white dresses always scream Springtime/Summer!  I always feel so classic and pulled together in one.  I adore the loose boho style of this one.  While this particular one is sold out online, it may still be available in your local store.  However, I did link some pretty amazing similar ones below!

Also, as you’re all too aware, the Nordstrom sale ( #NSALE) is still in full effect and opens up to the public on Friday.  You can get get a debit/credit card through Nordstrom and shop immediately though!  Things are selling out so very fast!  I honestly feel somewhat under pressure to get my order in for fear of things selling out!  I wanted to mention that the NSALE isn’t just clothes.  There’s a great beauty section on sale as well!  At the bottom of today’s post I’ve included my top ten favorite items (with explanations as to why) that are part of the beauty sale!  Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post to see it!

1-These candles are THE BEST…they’re the same ones that they sell at Anthropologie.  They can smell up my whole house easily!

2-I own this water bottle in turquoise.  It’s so cute!   I love the glass bottle and the rubber sleeve with the heart is a nice touch to keep you from dropping it.

3– This is the lip balm that I swear by.  I wear it all the time.  There’s always one by my bedside and one in my purse.  It’s so good!

4-Jo Malone can do no wrong.  This is a great little sampler set to get you going!

5-I love my Clarisonic.  I have the old version and probably need to invest in the new one someday soon.  It’s perfect for helping your skin out!

6– Whenever my skin is feeling congested, I use this mask.  It’s heaven sent.  In fact, I have it on right now as I’m writing this post.

7-Best body cream ever.

8-I had lash extensions and adored them.  However, after they all fell out, my lashes felt really short.  This has helped them to grow at lightning speed for the past two months.  The almost touch my eyebrows.  I just apply a thin line of it at night on my lash line like you would eyeliner.  Results will take 6 weeks to see but I promise you will get results if you are consistent!  If I could only get one product from the beauty sale, this would be it.  You essentially get two for the price of one.  Run.  Get it now!

9-Nars makes the best blushes.  I so want this.  All those gorgeous options means I have serious heart eyes for it.

10-The best facial cleanser.  I’ve used this stuff for probably a decade.  It will remove anything…even waterproof mascara.  It feels like it melts everything off at the end of the day.  Love it!

Hope that helped you to narrow down all of your beauty picks…check back in later this week for some more selections (and possible styling of what I’ve purchased).  Be sure to visit my other two posts about the NSALE here & here.

As of now, I’m sure you’ve heard that Nordstrom is having their HUGE ANNIVERSARY SALE!  I’m also positive you’re aware by now that this sale is unlike any other.  It is not the run of the mill end of season marked down items that no one wanted.  It is brand new, never before released items for the coming season all on sale.  Now, these are only temporary price cuts that only last until August 8th when prices go back up to normal.  Currently, you have to be cardholder to purchase (you can sign up for their debit card or credit card now and gain access today though if desired).  The sale does go public on Friday, however, I wouldn’t wait for it as MANY items are already selling out.

Early yesterday morning I finally brought myself to decide upon what exactly I wanted from the sale.  I began attempting to add some items to my cart only to discover that they were out of my size (Nordstrom does restock frequently during the sale so check back often though) or I wasn’t sure what size to order on other items because I was in between sizes on the charts.  That being said, I knew a trip to the motherland was in order.  Now, it pains me to admit that the nearest Nordstrom is about 2 hours from my house.  It is a tragedy.  However, I am currently on vacation and had the luxury of time on my side to do a little extra shopping/traveling to visit the beloved #NSALE yesterday.  I thought it might be helpful for you all to see what I tried on, my thoughts on them, and what I ultimately went home with.  I apologize for the iPhone photos ahead of time.  I will more than likely end up doing another order online and then styling all of my purchases soon!

Without further ado, here are my dressing room diaries:

I knew before I entered into the doors of Nordstrom that I was after this “leather” jacket or the Mackage leather one.  I actively scouted out both.  I ultimately decided to save the $400 and go with this one.  Both were amazing quality.  However, when I went to approach this one, I had actually thought that it was the more expensive one.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was the less expensive, under $60, leather jacket of my dreams.  I cannot wait to wear this over feminine dresses, with white pants, or distressed denim and a girly top.  I was in between an xs and small but ultimately decided that the small gave me more movement and room for layering.

Verdict:  Welcome Home!

Madewell Ex-Boyfriend Shirt:

This black and white top is so soft that it is honestly comparable to a Rails shirt (which my store didn’t have :().  It was beautiful in a size small worn here.  It was the only size left.  I would have liked to try on an xs.  However, once half-tucked, I fell in love with it.  I honestly thought I had this pattern shirt already at home so I felt guilty purchasing it.  Well, I got home only to find that I didn’t have anything comparable in my closet but my husband did.  haha I guess the name of the shirt is appropriate.  I feel like an idiot for leaving it & will be stalking the site until it comes back so I can purchase it.

Verdict:  Depressed that I left it at the check stand.

I’ve been on the hunt for a green fatigue shirt for quite a while.  For some reason, most of them never fit the bill.  The second I touched this shirt, I knew I was done for.  It’s soooooo soft.  The associate that checked me out at the end of the trip even commented that it was buttery soft.  I wanted a looser fit so I sized up to a small.  It’s so reasonable.  I think I’ll order the white and gray soon too as I know that they will be fantastic with everything from work pants to shorts to leather pants in the fall.

Verdit:  Welcome Home!

Ruffled Top:

This pink blouse has super cute ruffles on the front.  I’m wearing an xs here.  It was adorable but I felt as though that area of my closet (pink ruffly things) was pretty well rounded out already and I really didn’t need another one.

Verdict:  Stayed.

This little white dress was so cute and would be perfect for a variety of occasions.  I am wearing a small here.  It fit beautifully & even has an attached slip.  However, I have had a penchant for white dresses this season and have purchased far too many that look similar to it.  If I didn’t already own so many, it would have come home.

Verdict:  Stayed.

I adored these.  They are soft, super stretchy, the rips hit in just the right places and they are just perfect.  I was trying to stay in budget and felt that I had denim that was similar already.  However, I have no idea why I didn’t purchase them considering when I got home I remembered that my favorite pair of distressed denim is on it’s last leg.  I found them true to size.

Verdict:  Will more than likely be ordering online.

This was perfect:  soft, super long, cuddly, pretty well made for the $30 price.  However, I’m sure you’ve noticed I love a good cardigan & already own way too many (must be the teacher in me).  I purchased a nearly identical one last year and felt that I didn’t need a duplicate.  This one is a gem though and I honestly am considering other colors.

Verdict:  Stayed but LOVED.

I had been eyeballing this online.  It’s well constructed and a definite statement maker.  It would look great as worn above or with a dress or with an all monochromatic outfit to break it up.  I loved the print.

Verdict:  Stayed.

Do you all have those items that are just your kryptonite?  Well, cashmere sweaters are that for me. I can’t get enough.  It must be a texture/tactile issue with me.  They are so soft that once I touch them I am done for.  My store only had this in a small.  I probably would do even better in an xs.  However, I really love oversized sweaters and fell in love with this one once slightly tucked.  It’s soft and delightful.  I held it in my clutches until the last possible second when I made the decision to behave myself and leave it because I already purchased one cashmere sweater this weekend.  That being said, it is such a good deal for it and I am genuinely annoyed that I left it and will more than likely end up purchasing it.  It was just MAGICAL and I just feel DUMB AS CAN BE for leaving it at Nordstrom

Verdict:  HEARTBROKEN that I left it.  Will probably order soon!

These are probably my favorite thing that I purchased.  My store didn’t have the correct size (I found them true to size) so we had to order them online while I was there (Now, I just have to see if they ship…I’m horrified at the possibility of them canceling it due to fulfillment issues.).  I will be so excited when they arrive in the mail.  They are under $60 and are cute and comfortable…what more could a girl ask for?!

Verdict:  Welcome Home…On Order/In the Mail.

These loafers gave my heart eyes galore online.  I was so excited to have them!  They were in my online cart but I honestly didn’t know what size to order.  I tried them on in store and ultimately decided that they were true to size to slightly big.  (If in doubt, order your regular size and add heel grips if they are slightly big.)  They look like a very expensive designer pair and are cute as a button!  They are such a great deal!

Verdict:  Welcome Home!

This little leopard bag was so cute.  I adored the detailing.  It looks so similar to a Chloe handbag but for far less.  I *ALMOST* purchased it.  However, my handbag collection has gotten to be rathe extensive in the past few years and I genuinely had to ask myself if I would pick it up over some of my other handbags.  Sadly, I left her at Nordstrom because I didn’t feel that I would give her the attention that she deserved….but I LOVED IT!

Verdict:  Stayed.  I know someone else will give her more love than I can.

I hope this little dressing room diaries was helpful!  I had fun going in and trying on all of my lovely picks from the sale.  It’s so hard to narrow down all of the great things in the sale so I hope this helped!  If you have any sizing or other questions regarding the items feel free to ask here, on Instagram or on Snapchat…I’ll be sure to answer!

Be sure to check back in later on this week for more sale picks and view my previous picks here!

The best sale of the year is finally here!  Every year, Nordstrom has a fabulous sale on brand new never before seen items for Fall.  This isn’t your typical sale where everything is already picked over and you are purchasing what is left over.  Everything in this sale is newly released.  The sale lasts a few weeks and then the items go back to regular price.  This sale essentially works in reverse…the good deals are at the beginning of the season rather than at the end!  That being said, this week is the early access week.  That means that if you have a Nordstrom credit or debit card, you get to shop the sale before anyone else!  If you don’t have one, you can either sign up for one and access the sale immediately, or you can wait until next week and make your selections then when it opens up to everyone.  Just a warning though, the good items do tend to sell out quickly!  I have a good feeling that some of the items such as these sunglasses, this pair of boots, this leather jacket, and this handbag will be selling out before public access starts!  The following are some items that I have my eye on and are a GREAT deal!

Happy shopping!
