THE HANDBAG DIARIES: PHILLIP LIM MINI PASHLI

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  I started my handbag diaries series a few weeks ago (see this post & this post for more).  It seems like there’s little online in terms of handbag reviews and I am always looking for them.  I thought it might be a nice idea to review the ones that have come into my wardrobe.  Today I’ll be discussing the Phillip Lim Mini Pashli (25% off with code:  GOBIG16).

Structure:

This bag is very structured.  However, it will not stand on its own due to the rounded bottom.  It has two side flaps that unzip to allow for more room inside the bag.  When I wore it, I always left the flaps open. I’ve had mine for a year or two and it has not lost any shape whatsoever.  It is still stiff and rigid.    It’s able to be worn cross body.

Leather Quality:

It is made of textured leather.  It is not the most luxurious leather, but it is nice.  It is not buttery texture but it is a good stiff leather.  Due to the textured leather, it is highly durable.  This leather will not scratch and is not a handbag that you need to worry about babying whatsoever.  I have not experienced any color transfer with it.

Hardware:

While I haven’t had any experience with it (I tend to baby my handbags) it is said that the hardware scratches easily.  Mine is still pristine after all this time.  You just have to be careful when you close the flap.

Versatility:

This bag can be worn in the hand or crossbody on the shoulder using the shoulder strap.  It is very easy to carry. I never used the handheld option of this bag.  I used it strictly as a crossbody.  It is perfect for a day of shopping or errands.  However, you will have to downsize when carrying it.  In my opinion, it is not a bag that you can easily dress up.  It looks best with casual clothes.

What It Holds:

This bag is a small crossbody that you will have to downsize when carrying.  It fit my Chanel reading glasses (with a hard small case), Saint Laurent card holder,  Louis Vuitton Cles (for my keys),  full size wallet, iPhone, small hand lotion, powder and lipstick and had very little room left.  If desired, you could trade the wallet for a sunglass case and just use a cardholder.  A makeup bag will not fit in this but you can fit a lipstick and powder/mirror.  While it is a bag where you may have to downsize, for my needs, the essentials fit nicely.

Verdict:

This bag is adorable.  However, a new red handbag has caught my attention and I saw no reason to have two small red handbags.  This was the one that I chose to send to a new home.  However, that being said, it is a fantastic bag and I would repurchase it!   It lends itself well to casual outfits and it a compliment getter!

Hope you found this helpful!  Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about her!

xoxo,

Abbie

I’m not exactly sure. It’s a true red. For some reason, I think when I purchased, it was just called red. Hope that’s helpful.

Thanks for the quick response! The photos I’ve come across online of the red pashli aren’t like this one that you had, they seem lighter. I love this shade of red! Thanks for the very helpful review 🙂

You’re so welcome. Mine is from about two years ago. 🙂
