WEEKLY EDIT .02: MY FIVE MOST USED DESIGNER PIECES

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I hope your 4th of July weekend was spent with those you adore, enjoying some relaxing time with good food and some fun shenanigans!  We spent part of the weekend in San Francisco celebrating my new promotion by doing a little Union Square shopping & enjoying the ambiance that is the city!  The rest of the weekend we spent relishing in some much needed relaxation time by the pool!

Shopping Union Square got me thinking.  I’ve been collecting designer items for AT LEAST the past 10 years.  I always really try to give some good thought to my purchases and try not to purchase them on impulse.  One of my main criteria for purchasing a designer item is by equating a general idea of cost per wear.  I always try to ensure that I will get great use out of each designer item that I purchase.  My greatest fear is one of my pieces becoming a shelf ornament.  Now, there are items that I only wear for special occasions (but LOVE anyway) and there are the items that see almost daily use.  The funny thing is, when I’m purchasing them, I’m never quite sure which ones will end up getting used more frequently.  The following five items are all pieces that I use EVERY.  SINGLE.  WEEK.  without fail.  They are pieces that have become wardrobe staples and I cannot imagine my wardrobe without them at this point.  My hope in creating this is that it may give you guidance in terms of what designer purchases are smart buys.  Here are my top five most used designer items in my closet:

  1.  Goyard Tote

This tote is such a work horse for me.  It is the ideal work bag as it fits EVERYTHING!  The neutral colors allow it to go with most outfits!  I also find myself carrying it to farmer’s market, coffee shops when I need to work with my laptop, and weekend shopping as well!

  2. Michele Watch

  3. Hermes Clic Clac

These two items are my daily staples.  There is rarely a day where I am not wearing them.  They go with every outfit and are statement makers on their own or paired together!

  4. Valentino Rockstud Flats

Rockstud flats are by far my most worn shoe.  I wear them so much that I have purchased them in multiple colors!  I wear them at least twice per week!  If you’re considering them be sure to know your European size.  I’m always a US 8 & got these in my true European size, 38.5.  I do have a narrow foot, so if you have a regular to wide foot, I would size up a half size.

  5. Chanel Brooch

When my outfit feels a little plain, this is my favorite way to add some interest quickly.  Chanel brooches are timeless.  They can be worn on a chunky sweater, attached to your favorite blazer or denim jacket, added to a scarf, or pinned in many other ways!  This is one item that I reach for again and again when I feel that my outfit is lacking that something special!

xoxo,

Abbie
